The Gran Teatro de La Habana, the Grand Theatre, on the Prado facing Parque Central, was officially opened in 1838 and is the home of the Cuban National Ballet. It has been closed for restoration work since 2013, but is due to open on January 1, 2016 with a grand gala by the Cuban National Ballet Company. I would dearly love to attend.
