I am so very upset.  Last evening when checking the website for the National Ballet of Cuba I discovered that they have removed performances for October 2, 3, and 4th.  The ballet was one of my main reasons for going to Havana at this time.  Oh well, it is what it is. 

Withdrawal pains are in my future.

I will not have access to the internet while in Havana.  Yes, there are some hotels with wifi, but it is slow and expensive.  It takes a long time to write and upload photos.  I have been told there is a wifi hotspot near my hotel and the card is quite affordable.  But, sitting on the sidewalk or curb with my Mac balanced precariously on my lap is not going to work for me.

Is there a 12 step programme for this situation???

Oh!, maybe there is a cafe within range - fingers crossed

Woo Hoo - trip confirmed -  September 29th to October 9th.

The long civic holiday weekend is over, thank goodness.  Today I decided to book my trip.

Usually I do not book through a travel agent, but decided to this time given that this is a package and I will be at the mercy of the tour company if anything goes wrong.  I figure it is worth the little extra to have a real live agent on the back burner.  Well I needed her already. Horor or horrors, trip sold out. When she found out my date was sold out she called the tour company direct and put in a request.  It seems that there are seats on the flight, but that all the rooms the tour company had 'bought' were sold out.  I will know within 48 hours if I get the hotel, dates, and the same price.  If they give me the same trip, I am committed to it and my credit card will be charged immediately.

On the other hand, just in case I don't get it, I am researching other hotels.

Now it's wait and see???
